Putting the bits and pieces together – and getting the itch back in my fingers!!!

Pledge campaign has reached 100 % and now I´m getting ready to go on a short promo tour for Sudden Elevation in Europe next week. My heart is full of gratitude to the people that have helped me make this happen. I´m so ready to get out there again and start doing what I love the most, playing music and singing for people. I feel my motivation rising and the itch is back in my fingers. The urge. The crave to reunite with my audience with fresh material….

Silly walks kill my seasonal blues

In Iceland we suffer from serious lack of light in january, so sometimes I have to use desperate measures to cope. I found listening to pop hits and walking around my (relatively small) apartment in a similar manner that is demonstrated in this video particularly helpful this morning.

Stay in there!

Bright future

Hello again!

Happy new year to you all.

I´m returning to my blogging after the intense Icelandic christmas celebrations. My son also turned five two days ago and we had 50 people over for pancakes and laughs.

Today is my birthday. I just turned 33. For some reason I feel like this anniversary is very important. Maby even more important than reaching 30. Here´s a card I pulled from my goddess deck. Lakshmi is my favorite one! I hope it´s a good omen.

Fighting the Scrooge within – Excellent results this year!

When my father died a few years ago christmas completely changed. Every year I found myself pulled further into a vicious cycle of self pity, bitterness and imagined social isolation. Sometimes I even become resentful towards all the celebration, joy, and lovely togetherness. My friends and family know this about me and are very understanding and sweet in pulling me along in the direction of the christmas spirit. I joke about it and say that it´s just the Scrooge in me.

I have in the past years tried to make more effort, and slowly but gradually found ways to fight the Scrooge within. Of course my son is a of great help. I can celebrate for him and enjoy the holidays thru the eyes of a child.

This year I decided to take the bull by it´s horns. Decorated extra early, found new music to listen to, tried new things and most importantly decided to give it a go this year.

It worked. I kept the old bitter monster under control and had a lovely time!!!
